Susan Coates - Biography
Susan is a Lyric Soprano.  She was awarded a B A Honours Degree in Music by The University of Bath and the Licentiate of The Royal Academy of Music, London.  She is a well qualified vocal coach with several teaching diplomas and has also studied piano and viola to Grade 8.

As a professional performer and teacher, Susan has an extensive knowledge of the operatic, oratorio and song repertoire. She has performed at leading venues in the UK and Europe and continues to perform on the concert platform at regular intervals. Susan also enjoys her work as a soprano providing entertainment for weddings, corporate events and other special occasions.

Susan continues her work in Music Education as a visiting singing coach at Stonar School, Atworth and Grittleton House School, both in Wiltshire. As a choir coach and animateur, Susan presents opera and singing workshops  promoting the revival of singing in schools. She is also a 'Singing Leader' for the 'Sing Up' campaign. She also teaches on a private basis from her home and has room for new students from September 2011.
As a member of Bath based, vocal ensemble Opera Sulis, Susan continues to perform in many of the city's historic houses and venues.  She also travels all over the UK to perform with the company and as a soloist in her own right. She regularly sings with the jazz ensemble 'Serenade' who are based in Wiltshire and the vocal duo 'Two's Company' with fellow Opera Sulis soloist, Anne Braley.

Susan is a full member of the ISM. (Incorporated Society of Musicians) PCS, (Performer and Composers Section). PTS, (Private Teachers Section) and MES, (Musician in Education Section). She has worked with many established instrumental and singing professionals performing as soprano soloist in premieres of new works by contemporary British composers. 

Susan is based in North Wiltshire within easy access of all major motorway's and rail services. She is a well qualified musician who can learn new music at speed. She continues to study with Rosa Mannion.
